Bandhavgarh National Park
Bandhavgarh is the jewel in Madhya Pradesh crown. Situated at a distance of 195 km fromJabalpur and 225 km from Khajuraho, the Bandhavgarh National Park is a premier wildlife preserve in the Vindhya mountain range of Central India. It is a tiny park compared to Kanha but with nearly the same number of tigers and leopards, or at least that is the official figure.
Bandipur National Park
In Karnataka, the two attractive wildlife parks of Nagarhole and Bandipur, though separate entities, are part of a larger contiguous wildlife reserve that includes the Mudumalai Sanctuary in Tamil Nadu and the Wynad Reserve in Kerala. Both the parks are easily accessible from Mysore.
Bharatpur National Park
Say Bharatpuralso known as Keoladeo Ghana National Park and one immediately conjures up an image of colourful birds feeding, nesting and chirping. If you are a birdlover you already know about Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, if you are not one you must visit Bharatpur in Rajasthan, you will become one. It makes for a perfect weekend getaway around Delhi. It is also known as Keoladeo 'Ghana' Bird Sanctuary - A park that inspires migrants the world over.
Corbett National Park
Corbett had the proud distinction of being the chosenvenue for the inauguration of Project Tiger in India. The rich bio-diversity of the Reserve is partly attributed to the variety of habitat found here. Due to thelocation of the Reserve in the foothills of the Central Himalayas, both Himalayan and peninsular flora and fauna is found in the Reserve. The grasslands, locally known as Chaurs, are limited. The largest grasslamnd is the Dhikala Chaur.
Dudhwa National Park
Further east along the Terai, the DudhwaNational Park, which is also a Tiger Reserve, is located in the district of Lakhimpur -Kheri, very close to the Nepal border. The 498.29 sq. km. Park has fine sal forests and extensive grasslands. Tall coarse grass sometimes forming impenetrable thickets, swampy depressions and lakes characterise the wetlands of the Park.
Kanha National Park
Kanha National Park, a Tiger Reserve located in the state of MadhyaPradesh, the reserve covers an area of 1950 sq. km. Established as a reserve forest in 1879, it was declared a National Park in 1955 and a tiger reserve in 1973 under Project Tiger. The undulating terrain of the Park consists of flat-topped hills and meadow-like grasslands known as Maidans. The successiveelevations of the valleys present a step-like formation in the east-west direction. The forest is formed of 50% dry deciduous woodland on the hilltops and slopes.
Kaziranga National Park
Lying along the mighty BrahmaputraRiver, the Kaziranga National Park covers an area of about 430 sq. km. Its swamps and grasslands with tall thickets of elephant grass and patches of evergreen forest, support the largest number of rhino in the subcontinent. It was an alarming depletion in their numbers, due to hunting and poaching that led to the conservation of this area in 1926. In 1940, Kaziranga was declared a sanctuary.

Periyar National Park
Set high in the ranges of the WesternGhats, in Kerala, is the Periyar National Park and Tiger Reserve. The park has a picturesque lake at the heart of the sanctuary. Formed with the building of a dam in 1895, this reservoir meanders around the contours of the wooded hills, providing a perennial source of water for the local wildlife.
Rajaji National Park
Rajaji National Park is situated along the hills and foothills of Shivalikranges in the Himalayan foothills and represents the Shiwalik eco-system. On the map it is located between Haridwar (Latitude 290 56 40) and Dehradun (Latitude 300 20 North) and 790 80 E Longitude (Dehradun 780 01 15 E (Ramgarh), Chillawali- 770 54 30 East). Rajaji NationalPark is distinct for its pristine scenic beauty and rich bio- diversity. A paradise for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts, the wildlife of the park is blessed with elephants, tigers, leopards, deer and ghorals as its best known life forms.
Ranthambore National Park
Ranthambhor National Park, before a princely game conserve is the scene where the celebrated Indian Tiger is best seen. Ranthambhor Tiger Reserve lies on the junction of Aravali and Vindhyas just 14 Kms from Sawai Madhopur in Eastern Rajasthan. It sprawls over a varying and undulating landscape.
Sariska National Park
Sariska became a sanctuary inthe year 1958. This sanctuary is situated in Rajasthan, the erstwhile royal preserve of the rulers of Alwar. The sanctuary came under the Project Tiger in 1979 and became a national park in 1982. It is located at Kankwari fort, near Alwar, on the Delhi - Jaipur Highway.
Sasan Gir National Park
Located in the south west of the Saurashtra peninsula, the Gir National Park is a heaven to about 300 Asiatic lions. The 1,412.13 sq. km. Park has a rugged terrain and the steep rocky hillsides are covered in mixed deciduous forests. There are teak, ber, flame of the forest and banyan trees.
Sultanpur National Park
Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary is located ata distance of 46kms from Delhi. It is a heaven to a variety of domestic and migratory birds. With the years, hundreds of species of migratory birds have winged in to stay here. In winter birds from as far as Siberiawing in this area along with flock of geese from Europe.
Sunderbans National Park 
The vast swampy delta of the two great Indian rivers, the Brahmaputra and the Ganga, extends over a vast area. Mangrove forests, swamps and forested islands are interwoven with a network of small rivers and rivulets. The Sundarbans National Park, covering about 1330.10 sq. km., forms the core of this area.
